UFC 219: Cyborg vs Holm Fight Las Vegas

UFC 219: Cyborg vs Holm is an upcoming mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship that will be held on December 30, 2017 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Veteran referee Herb Dean will be the third individual in the cage when Cris Cyborg defends her UFC women’s featherweight title against Holly Holm at UFC 219. Dean was unanimously selected to oversee the championship bout at a Tuesday meeting of the Nevada Athletic Commission. He will for the night’s work.

Additionally, Las Vegas regulars Derek Cleary, Dave Hagen, and Chris Lee were selected to judge Cyborg vs. Holm, which headlines the UFC’s year end show. All three judges will to work the contest.

Cyborg NC captured the UFC women’s featherweight title with a third round TKO over Tonya Evinger in July. She is an undefeated 3 0 in the UFC and has not lost in 19 straight bouts dating back to 2005. Cyborg is widely considered the No. 1 pound for pound female fighter in the sport.

Holm snapped a three fight losing streak with a vicious third round knockout of Bethe Correia in July. A former champion boxer, Holm drew worldwide recognition in 2015 for her stunning head kick knockout of former UFC superstar Ronda Rousey. Holm suffered a controversial title loss to Germaine de Randamie in her only MMA appearance at 145 pounds.

It’s usually the Jackson-Winkeljohn camp who deploys spies across rival fight teams, but it appears the tables have been turned for the upcoming UFC 219 pay-per-view PPV event, taking place Sat. Dec. 30, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

That’s because Brazilian wrecking ball Cristiane Justino has been receiving intel from her fellow countrymen, outlining some of the training and preparations former bantamweight champion Holly Holm has completed ahead of her return to Sin City.

I’ve actually had a few Brazilians who have trained in New Mexico share things with me about her training, Justino said via FanSided. While I appreciate them wanting to see me succeed and continue to represent Brazil as a champion, I haven’t really let what they’ve said influence my training.

Justino captured the crown by turning away Tonya Evinger at the UFC 219 PPV back in July, her eighth straight win and eighth straight knockout finish since departing Strikeforce back in 2011.

Holm surrendered her pound strap to Miesha Tate in early 2017, then tried to claim gold as a featherweight. Unfortunately, The Preacher’s Daughter came up short against Germaine de Randamie. Whether or not this leaked info has any influence on the actual fight remains to be seen.
